SANTHÉ HERBAL TEA HOUSE
SanThé is a unique social inclusion project where young people from Down Plus Bucharest Association volunteer as hosts and servers, welcoming guests and serving the products ordered from the menu.
More than just a tea house, SanThé is a warm, welcoming space where every cup of tea or coffee comes with something extra: a genuine smile, kindness, and a reminder of the incredible abilities of people with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities.

The Story Behind SanThé
Do you know that feeling when you choose to do things differently?
We experience it every day.
At Down Plus Bucharest Association, we have always chosen to see the world from a different perspective. We choose to focus on abilities rather than disabilities, on potential rather than limitations.
That belief gave birth to SanThé.
The project began as a pilot initiative designed to explore how young people with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities could thrive in customer-facing roles. While the Bucharest General Directorate of Social Assistance provided the location, Down Plus Bucharest Association brought together a team of talented young people eager to learn, contribute, and grow. The result was a beautiful story that continues to inspire visitors every day.
SanThé has been operating since 2021 as a partnership between Down Plus Bucharest Association and the General Directorate of Social Assistance of Bucharest.
